Awakening the Dreamer/Changing the Dream
At their annual meeting, the committees representing congregational areas of interest and service experienced the symposium presented by the Pachamama Alliance; Awakening the Dreamer/Changing the Dream. The program was so energyzing that the joint committees recommended that it be offered again for all Sisters and associates and at a later date for families and friends. The program will be offered on May 22 at 9 am in St. Joseph Renewal center as a pre-chapter preparation. The aim of this program is to galvanize people from all over the world to wake up from the trance we are living in and to begin to see the possibilities in a world view that is a merging of technological genius and spiritual depth. Its underlying belief is that our consciousness must shift before anything can happen. It tries to lead the participants to this shift through multimedia and participatory input. The goal of the symposium is to join people in working to create a world view of life on our planet which is environmentally sustainable, spiritually fullfilling and socially just. It focuses on the need for an awakened global citizenship among a population which is struggling with a crisis of meaning. Participants focus on the questions; Where are we? How did we get here? What is possible for the future ? Where do we go from here ? The symposium leaves participants in a state of "Blessed Unrest" seeking to join with others to help create a common future.
